Dirt Work & Excavation FAQ: Paris, TX
Straight answers about cost, bids, scheduling, weather, permits and warranties.
- 1-year workmanship warranty, terms in your contract
- Insured and bonded
- Free bids, usually by the next day
How much does land clearing cost per acre?
There is no flat per-acre price, because every property is different: acreage, how thick the brush and timber are, tree size, slope and soft ground, access for equipment, and what you want done with the debris all change it. Bigger jobs cost less per acre. For a ballpark range, try our price calculator. The final price comes after a free site visit, and residential bids are usually back to you by the next day.
How much does a gravel driveway cost?
It depends on the length and width of the drive, the condition of the ground underneath, how much base and gravel it needs, and whether a culvert is needed where it meets the road. Our gravel driveways go down on TxDOT-approved fabric so they last longer. Enter your length and width in our price calculator for a ballpark range, then call or send the estimate form for a free written bid.
How fast can I get a bid?
Estimates are free. Residential bids are usually turned around by the next day, and we get commercial bids in on time.
How soon can you start, and how long will my job take?
Most residential jobs start within 30 days, often sooner. Timing depends on whether the job is residential or commercial, its size, and the weather. We’ll give you a timeline with your bid.
Do you work when it rains?
Light weather doesn’t stop us. As one customer put it, “Unless the sky is falling out, they will work in rain or shine!” Some tasks, like compacting a house pad or finishing a driveway, have to wait until the ground is dry enough to do it right.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa, checks and ACH.
Do you require a deposit?
For residential jobs under $10,000, we take a 50% deposit to get you on the schedule. Larger and commercial jobs are spelled out in your bid.
Do you use TxDOT fabric?
Yes, we use TxDOT fabric under our gravel driveways so they hold up longer.
Who will manage my job?
Every job has a project manager and a foreman, so you always have someone to call.
Can you design a pond or build a concrete dam?
Yes. When a customer needs it, we lay out and build ponds and earthen and concrete dams, with the overflows and excavation, built to your plans or an engineer’s design when the job requires one. See our pond services.
Do you offer a veteran or first responder discount?
Yes. Veterans and first responders get 5% off residential projects. Just let us know when you request your estimate.
Is your work guaranteed?
Yes. Our work comes with a standard one-year warranty. If you have a concern about our work during that first year, give us a call.
Will the price change once the job starts?
Your price is set in your written contract. It changes only for scope changes, conditions we couldn’t see, or other items your contract lists, and you approve any change in writing first. No extra work starts until you approve it in writing.
Do you handle permits?
Permits are usually not included in our bids. Normally the general contractor or the homeowner pulls them. If you need us to pull a permit, we can do that, no problem. Just let us know when you ask for your estimate.
Where do you work?
We’re based at 1802 S Church St in Paris, Texas. We take residential jobs within 90 miles of Paris, and further depending on the job, including Paris, Clarksville, Bonham, Sulphur Springs, Mt Pleasant, Sherman, Hugo and Idabel. Commercial work covers Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas.
